Transfer News: Real Madrid star set to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus
Real Madrid left-back Marcelo Vieira is not fond of his situation at the Santiago Bernabeu after losing his place in the starting lineup to Castilla graduate Sergio Reguilon and may very well end up at Juventus. This move can reunite him with his former team-mate of nine years Cristiano Ronaldo who has settled well at the Turin club scoring 16 goals in his first 27 games at an average of 140 minutes per goal across all competitions. Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari seems to be fond of the Brazillian but has warned he is not guaranteed a place in his first XI and has asked of Marcelo to stay and fight for his spot.
In a press conference ahead of the Copa Del Ray clash against Girona, Solari said "His love for the club and his commitment to the club and his joy at training are undoubted, and his behaviour is impeccable. All these things must be praised. It's always a difficult task to pick the team. But competition within the squad is an essential part of football. Everyone must feel they have an opportunity and can lose their place [if they don't do well]."
The veteran fullback who left for Santiago Bernabeu back in 2007 from Fluminense Football Club for a mere 6.5 million Euros has been nothing but a blessing for Galacticos winning a total of 20 trophies since his arrival which includes 4 UEFA Champions League titles, 4 La Liga, 2 Copa Del Ray, 3 Spanish Super Cup, 3 Uefa Super Cup and 4 Club World Cup titles in his illustrious career at the Bernabeu. He also won his only international trophy of Confederations Cup in 2013 with Brazil during this time and has been hailed by many as the best Left-Back in the world.
According to OK Diario, Marcelo has informed Real Madrid about his desire, “If Juve makes an offer to sign me, please let me go", Perez is willing to grant the Brazilian's wish and looking to bring in Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo as a replacement. This should not come as a surprise as the Brazillian has expressed something of the sorts earlier in his career as well:
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Marcelo has reportedly told Florentino Perez that if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid then he will also pack his bags and go.

If this transfer goes through in which could be the biggest news of 2019, the Merengues would find a bit hard to replace a player of Marcelo's quality while at Bianconeri, Marcelo can enjoy the rest of his career playing along with his best friend Cristiano Ronaldo who is already reaping the benefits of the Turin club.
