Rohit Shetty on Sara Ali Khan: She has the quality of being a superstar
After a strong start in Kedarnath, a romantic drama, Sara Ali Khan stepped ahead with Simmba, a classic masala film. Sara's beginning in the industry has been an ideal one. The actress portrayed both the roles in her own style, sometimes even outshining the lead actor, like in the case of Kedarnath.
Sara had the opportunity to work with top directors and actors in the first two films of her career and it seems like all are highly impressed by the actress, especially Rohit Shetty. In an interview with an entertainment website, Rohit said that Sara is a combination of Kareena and Karishma Kapoor and has the quality of being a superstar.
He said, "When we did Aankh Marey, I already told her that we did not have a replacement of Karishma Kapoor, who was a great actor and at the same time managed the mass palette well. Doing Dil Toh Pagal Hai also and doing all David Dhawan films too and then came Kareena."
He added, "Amongst the young lot, I think she can fix that block, she can do a Kedarnath also and also can do a Simmba. Rarely, we have this combination in a younger lot and she fits that bill. When I say this, I think that is the quality of a superstar."
Though Sara never denied the benefits her lineage has given her, she also says that she has really worked hard and will continue to do so to make a name in the industry.
In fact, the actress went up Rohit Shetty to ask for a role in Simmba. Revealing the same on Kapil Sharma Show, Rohit said, "This impressed Shetty. "She came and begged me for a role in Simmba. Hearing this, I started crying. Imagine, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter begging me for a role. Saif never once asked me to take Sara for Simmba."
