Uri: The Surgical Strike box office collection: Based on the true incidents of Indian Army's surgical strike in Pakistan in 2016, Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer Uri is turning out to be a money spinner for its makers. The film is high on 'Josh' and continues to rule on box-office in its second week. On its second Sunday, the film earned around Rs 15 crore and took its overall collection past Rs 100 crore to Rs 106.84 crore. With this, Uri entered the Rs 100 crore club in just 10 days, best among medium-budget films, beating Anand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

"#UriTheSurgicalStrike is the best trending film, as far as medium-budget films go... Even better than #TWMReturns, which is the highest grossing film in this category... Data follows... #Uri #HowsTheJosh," movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Sunday.

The R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut starrer is followed by Rajkummar Rao's Stree which took 11 days to go past Rs 100 crore club while Ali Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal's Raazi had taken 17 days to achieve the feat.

In another tweet, Adarsh said that even though a film's collection should not be the yardstick to gauge its success, people should celebrate when a mid-sized film achieves this feat. "And #Uri crosses ₹ 100 cr... Sure, ₹ 100 cr is *not* the yardstick to gauge the success of a film, but it should be celebrated when mid-sized films like #SKTKS, #Raazi, #Stree, #BadhaaiHo and #UriTheSurgicalStrike hit century... Content is king and the audiences are king makers!" the tweet read.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri: The Surgical Strike had earned Rs 8.20 crore on day 1 but picked up really well because of good word of mouth.

With no big release this week, the film has another four days to add to its collection before Kangana's 'Manikarnika' and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's 'Thackery' hit theatres on Republic Day weekend. The next target for Uri would be to go past Baaghi 2 which had collected Rs 166 crore in its lifetime.
